Wellness is rather good at sweeping an arm to a staircase heading up towards the light and suggesting all you need is this tonic or that treatment or a reset on vegetable juices. When we have a medical condition we can sometimes spend a lot of time bumbling around in wellness world when probably it’s a doctor you need to see. I think I was this person for a while.
That slow descent into feeling a bit non-specifically shite and with no answer as to why definitely brought me to the door of wellness. I thought the reason was mild depression, menopause, drinking, I thought I had permanently damaged my brain with, “youthful antics”, I thought I had cancer, I thought I had a bad gut microbiome, I needed more vegetables, more sleep, more light, more cold showers, more supplements, and hey, some of that stuff was great. But it turned out what I needed was three months of antivirals…
